In the far flung reaches of the South Pacific lye’s a pristine country consisting of three islands, known as ‘The Land of the Long White Cloud’, Aotearoa or New Zealand. Lived a young Maori boy know as Wayne Bennison who grew up seeking to venture out from this great land and see what lay out beyond the great blue.
At the age of 22 he had completed his Degree in Applied Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Management and was confident he had what it took to start out on his great journey to the foreign lands.
Wanting to go somewhere where he could experience a different and exciting culture but also a place where his interests could still be pursued, camping, surfing, snowboarding, road trips, chilling and drinking with good people, and not having to work to hard to earn his money, where else would be a better place to start than, Hokkaido, Japan on the JET program.
Now 23 and living in the great metropolis of Tomamae in the far North West, with a population of 4000 Japanese, 4 Chinese and 1 NZer, things are looking good.
