A news and community site for Hokkaido JETs

HAJET Secretary

Krystal CooleyName: Krystal Cooley

Nicknames: Kiki, Keekers, Kuri-chan

Age: 21

Blood type: A, meaning I’m shy, conscientious, trustworthy, and sensitive (if you buy into that blood type affects personality crap)

Hometown: Seattle, the most educated, most tech savvy, and fittest city in the United States. However, we’re only the second most homosexual. Home of Ichiro, Starbucks, and grunge music.

Hokkaido Hometown: Kuriyama, about an hour east of Sapporo. Semi-famous for purple butterflies and kuri manju (tiny chestnut buns, they’re actually pretty good)

University/Major: University of Washington. I majored in biochemistry, which isn’t much use to me here, except for arguing with Japanese people that you can’t catch a cold from cold weather and there’s a biochemical reason why they turn red when they drink.

Hobbies: the Internet, watching TV, baking, studying Japanese

Loves: nomihoudai, karaoke, Tsubohachi’s karikari cheese, green tea ice cream, my students

Hates: natto, kyushoku, sorting gomi, waking up early

Why JET?: It’s super nerdy, but I was just a little girl playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES when I found out that Nintendo is from Japan, and ever since then I’ve wanted to live here.

Why the HAJET PC?: Because Kate sempai made me.
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. If you want to know more about me, HAJET, or you’re just bored on a cold, Hokkaido winter evening, send me an email. See you! Bye bye!
