HAJET Treasurer

NAME: Lindsay Evelyn Crawford (aka Brave Heart)AGE: 22

HOME: Mississauga, ON (bordering Western Toronto). Fearlessly led by our Mayor of 31 years (Hurricane Hazel, we call her), Mississauga is a vibrant suburban centre, close enough to Toronto to be exciting, yet separate enough to hate Torontonians as much as everyone else.

HOME in Japan: Ishikari-shi (bordering on North-eastern Sapporo). It’s like my mini Missisauga.

SCHOOL: University of Guelph (aka Aggie Central). Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Mathematical Sciences. Four years dissecting small animals, and I got a t-shirt for surviving Invertebrate Zoo I and II.

FAMILY: Extensive. Mostly in Ontario, some in Ireland. Mom (Jane), dad (Dale), sister (Mallorie; 26), and dog (Bailey) keeping my place back in Mississauga.

HOBBIES: Skating, video games, reading, movies… recently, I’ve become very fond of snowboarding as well.

WHY JET? I’ve had a few friends who were on the program and highly recommended it. I’ve always been interested in Japan. This is a great way to gain experience in teaching (I plan on becoming a high school teacher post-JET), and trying to grasp the Japanese language.

WHY THE HAJET PC? I see what HAJET does for the JET community in Hokkaido and it’s great. I wanted to be behind the veiled mask that is HAJET, helping make decisions that will benefit all of its members.
