2012 HAJET Supplementary Election Results

Apr 25th

Posted by Webmaster in Announcements

Good morning everyone!

I hope your week is going along really well, and you are looking forward to a bit of a lighter workload with Golden Week coming up.

Here are the results of the HAJET Supplementary Election, where two positions were very closely fought for. Anyway, the two new Prefectural Council members are…

Treasurer: Stacey Fujikawa
Eastern Region Representative: Verity Lane

I want to thank all those people who put their names forward for positions, and to those who voted as well, it is really good to have people wanting to contribute and have their say. So, congratulations to our two new PC members, and I’m sure you’ll be hearing lots from them, myself, and all of the HAJET PC in the near future.

Cheers,
Michael Roberts

Posted by Webmaster in Announcements

Voting for the HAJET Supplementary Election is now open, so we are waiting for your votes! There is strong competition for both the Treasurer and Eastern Representative positions, so make your vote count! Please note that only people designated to be in the Eastern region will have their votes counted towards the Eastern Representative election, but you are all eligible to vote for the next Treasurer.

You can check out the profiles at here and once you’ve made a decision about who you would like to see in the positions place your vote at our voting booth website. Just put in the password that you should’ve received in a HAJET email I sent and you’ll be all set to vote.

Please get your votes in by Friday, April 20.

Continuing Call for Nominations

Mar 30th

Posted by Webmaster in Announcements

I hope you’ve all been having a happy end to the school year, and everything is going well. For those that don’t know, I’m Michael Roberts, the new HAJET President, and one of my first duties is to call for nominations for the currently unfilled positions on the new HAJET Prefectural Council.

The positions that are still open are:

Treasurer
Eastern Region Representative
Sapporo Region Representative
Publications Co-ordinator

Nomination Period:
We’ll be gathering nominations from Thursday March 22nd (that is today!) right through until Friday April 6th.

Voting Period:
The voting period will be from Monday April 9th through till Friday April 20th.
Please note that only those people living within the Eastern and Sapporo regions will have their votes counted towards the Eastern and Sapporo Regional Representative elections.

Who can be nominated?
Any HAJET member can nominate themselves or a friend, although the nominee must be a HAJET member or become a HAJET member by the voting period.

What to send in for a nomination:
Each nominee should submit a profile with the following information:
1. A photo of yourself
2. Name
3. Hometown
4. Hokkaido town
5. Year on JET
6. Position you are running for
7. Why you think you should be elected for the position
8. What HAJET means to you

Who to send your nominations to:
Please submit your profile to Barbara Arena at hajet.elections@gmail.com

So, if you think you could contribute to help making HAJET awesome, or maybe know someone that you think would, please get your nominations in before the April 6th deadline. If you have any questions about what is required for each of the roles, check out the HAJET Constitution, or just flick me an e-mail and I’ll get back to you.

Just one more thing from me- we are also looking for someone to take over as HAJET Webmaster. Check out the information from Kevin below, and if you’re interested in taking this up to help us out, let him know!

We’re still looking for a new HAJET webmaster! If you have experience with WordPress (a popular blog software we use for the website), phpBB3+ (the forum’s software) and want to be apart of HAJET, please send me an email at webmaster@hajet.org. Experience with Google Apps would be nice too.

HTML and CSS knowledge is preferred, but not necessary. If you have experience being a forum mod, than that would be great too!

If you, or anyone you know, is going to be in Hokkaido for at least a year and is interested, please email Kevin at webmaster@hajet.org!

Thanks for reading, keep warm and stay safe!

Cheers,
Michael Roberts
