HAJET Food Drive

HAJET is hosting a Food Drive between July 7th and July 25th, 2020. We will be collecting canned and dry goods to donate to struggling foreigners in our community. Financial donations are also accepted and encouraged. Our food drive will help feed those who are facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19.

Worldwide travel bans due to COVID-19, have caused a significant rise in job losses all over the country.  A number of foreign immigrant workers, in places like Niseko, have been left without a job as a result of COVID-19. Limited flights, price inflation, and no income have left many foreigners powerless with no prospect of returning home.

Our aim is to help feed stranded foreigners in Hokkaido during this difficult time.  Please support us in what way you can. Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need. We are asking for nutritious non-perishable goods. Here are some suggestions:

  • Canned vegetables
  • Dried beans
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned soups
  • Canned meat
  • Boxed meals
  • Pasta
  • Rice

Applications for support and donation collections will run from July 7th until July 20th, 2020. Distribution will be on Saturday, July 25th. Our Food Drive Committee and regional representatives will oversee the collections and distributions within their local communities.

Financial donations are greatly appreciated and will be collected by our treasurer.  All donations will be given to those in need. Find your closest donation collection point, give a financial donation, or register for assistance by contacting us at president@hajet.org.

 Thank you for your help.

 Sincerely

HAJET Food Drive Committee.
